The Foundation

The Sarolta Monspart Foundation for Healthy Living was established in 2022 to carry forward the spirit of Sarolta Monspart: the joy of movement, the sustaining power of community, and enjoying the benefits of a healthy, active lifestyle.

We believe that walking is more than a sport. It is a simple, accessible, community-building activity that helps preserve physical and mental health, reduces loneliness, and creates new relationships in towns, clubs, and communities.

Mission

The Foundation aims at encouraging as many people as possible to engage in regular physical activity, especially among retirees and senior people. Through our programs, club network, and partnerships, we support communities where movement is not about performance pressure but about joy, meeting others, and paying attention to one another.

What We Do

We support and organize the operation of the MOSA Walking Club Network, which now connects hundreds of clubs and tens of thousands of people who walk regularly across the country.

Our programs include community walks, club gatherings, mentor days, health-preserving events, professional collaborations, and nationwide initiatives.

We render special attention to make walking accessible to everyone: both to those who are already active club members and to those who are seeking a safe, welcoming community.

The Legacy of Sarolta Monspart

As a world champion orienteer, a Member of the Nation’s Sportsmen and Women, and a community-builder, Sarolta Monspart believed throughout her life (1944 -2021) that movement improves quality of life.

Her thought remains our guiding principle:

Nature is the world’s most wonderful sports stadium.

Through our work, we aim to keep this legacy alive — in steps, in encounters, in smiles, and in thriving communities.

Orienteering and Supporting Young People

Sarolta Monspart’s career is inseparable from orienteering. Therefore, the Foundation continues to prioritize promoting this sport activity, cooperating with the Hungarian Orienteering Federation, and inspiring and supporting young runners.

It’s Easier to Start in a Community

The activities of the MOSA Foundation are carried out on a voluntary basis and built on cooperation. Our goal is to ensure that as many towns and municipalities as possible offer opportunities for community walking, active programs, and meaningful shared experiences that truly enrich people’s everyday lives.
